Camp waste & donation drop zones

What:

Drop off clean recycling, compost, trash, and donations such as tents, sleeping bags, coolers, clothes, etc.

WHere:

Camp Waste Drop Zones, designated throughout the campgrounds:

  • Main Gate
  • Sturgeon Moon
  • Harvest Moon

Head to Minimal Impact’s Green Team Booth located at Center Camp for more information or questions.

HOW:

Bring any of the following items to your closest Camp Waste Drop Zone throughout the weekend to be sorted by the Minimal Impact team and their volunteers (feel free to help!):

  • Clean mixed recycling to be sorted: aluminum cans, paper, cardboard, glass, plastics #1-7
  • Compost to be sorted
  • Trash to be tossed into the large landfill roll-off bin
  • Gently used outdoor camping gear, clothing, and unopened, non-perishable foods to be donated

MORE INFO:

Minimal Impact is excited to launch a brand new initiative in 2024, The Camp Gear Donation Program!

At the end of your time at Renewal 2024 (or throughout the weekend), bring lightly used camp gear, clothing, and nonperishable food items to a Camp Waste Drop Zone Location where the Green Team will collect for donation. See Drop Zones represented with the ♻️ icon in the map below.

Gear donations – All acceptable gear will be donated back into the local community and unsheltered people in need through Chaffee County Community Foundation.

Non-perishable food – All donations will be collected and delivered to the Arkansas Valley Christian Mission.

Thank you for helping us give a second life to items that would otherwise be tossed in the landfill!

Prize project

What:

Join Minimal Impact’s Green Team in reducing waste at Renewal by participating in various sustainable practices to earn tokens, each token entering you into a drawing for swag and prizes.

how:

Earn tokens by participating in sustainable practices throughout the weekend. Each token equals one entry into a drawing for Billy Strings & Bonfire Entertainment merch & other swag!

Ways to participate:

  • Post-show cleanup: Fans can trade a full bag of trash for two tokens from the Minimal Impact Green Team. Turn your bags into Green Team members on duty anywhere in the venue, who will trade your bag for tokens!
  • Use your own plates and utensils at any food vendor in exchange for tokens.
  • Bonus Action: Use a reusable cup at the bar within the main music venue. If the Green Team sees you using your reusable cup, they will reward your good actions with a token!

enter the Prize drawing:

Turn in your tokens to the Minimal Impact booth in Center Camp (or at any of the Camp Waste Drop Zone locations) to enter into the drawing.

One token = one entry.

The Minimal Impact team will draw and contact winners throughout the weekend. Check their booth at Center Camp for drawing times and how to collect prizes.

Enter to win prizes like Billy Strings merch, event swag, and more!

Renewal recyling & composting 101

WHAT:

Here is a guide on how to properly recycle and compost at Renewal, including items traditionally hard to recycle below:

  • Mixed recycling
  • Compost
  • Snack wrappers
  • Cigarette butts
  • Batteries

WHY:

Contaminated recycling and compost can lead to the whole load heading off to the landfill. Clean recycling and compost results in a better product down the line!

WHERE:

  • Bring your mixed recycling and compost to any of the Camp Waste Drop Zones
  • Look for our snack wrapper recycling box at the Center Camp dining tent
  • Look for proper cigarette disposals within the venue in the smoking section
  • Bring batteries to any of our Camp Waste Drop Zones and look for the “Battery Box”
